The award-winning Ross Evolution LTX redefines what a modern trout reel can be. Building on the legendary Evolution series, the LTX delivers the perfect combination of original Evolution LT feel and Evolution R performance in a lightweight, meticulously machined package built to last a lifetime. Available in Platinum, Black, Matte Blue, and Matte Olive in sizes 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, and 7/8wt.
At the heart of the LTX is a dramatically upgraded engineered stacked-disc drag system — delivering over four times the drag strength of its predecessor while retaining the smooth sound and feel that made the Evolution an icon. The LTX handles not just trout but serious saltwater species like Redfish, Bonefish, and Snook. This is a reel equally at home on a western river as it is on the saltwater flats.
The large arbor spool features an innovative line channel that hides arbor knots when winding on backing — a small but brilliant detail that makes rigging cleaner and faster. The bell-shaped arbor design adds structural strength while self-leveling fly line across the spool face during retrieval. The handle is machined from canvas phenolic rod — a Ross Reels innovation — reducing weight, adding durability, and increasing grip in wet conditions.
Frame and spool are machined from 6061-T6 proprietary aluminum alloy specifically engineered for Ross Reels, finished in a hard anodized coating for the perfect balance of durability and color. Proudly made in Montrose, Colorado, USA.
