D-Link 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Unmanaged Switch Metal HousingDescriptionSpecificationsShipping The D Link DGS 1008P enables both home and office users to connect Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras, and IP phones to your network in remote locations without the need for external adapters. Built with home and small business users in mind, the DGS 1008P is compact and operates silently, making it ideal for virtually any room or office. High Performance The DGS 1008P

The D-Link DGS-1008P enables both home and office users to connect Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras, and IP phones to your network in remote locations without the need for external adapters. Built with home and small business users in mind, the DGS-1008P is compact and operates silently, making it ideal for virtually any room or office.

High Performance

The DGS-1008P features Auto-MDI/MDI-X support on all ports which removes the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch or hub. Auto-negotiation on each port intelligently adjusts the port speed for optimal compatibility with the connected device. With wire-speed filtering and store-and-forward switching, the DGS-1008P maximizes network performance while minimising the transmission of bad network packets.

Compact and Silent

The DGS-1008P has a compact design, meaning it can be placed virtually anywhere, including small offices and work spaces where space is at a premium. The desktop form-factor provides everything you need to set up a new network, or expand an existing network by connecting it to other switches. The fanless design ensures silent operation, making the switch suitable for office spaces, work floors, and noise-sensitive areas such as meeting rooms.

Power over Ethernet

The DGS-1008P features four 10/100/1000BASE-T ports that support the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE protocols, enabling these ports to supply up to 30 W of power to connected devices for a total PoE power budget of 68 W. This allows compatible devices to be connected without requiring an additional power supply, saving on cabling and allowing devices to be installed in locations without immediate access to power outlets.

D-Link Green Technology

The DGS-1008P features green technology, including IEEE 802.3az Energy-efficient Ethernet (EEE), link status detection, and cable length detection. Energy-efficient Ethernet dynamically reduces the power consumption of the switch when network utilization is low, reducing the cost of ownership during periods of inactivity. Link status detection automatically powers down ports when there is no link detected, saving power when the connected device has been shut down or disconnected. Cable length detection automatically adjusts the power output of the port based on the length of the cable, reducing the power requirements of the switch to only what is necessary for the installation.

Started w/ audiobook, now I'm ordering the print too
    Format: Paperback
This book is GREAT!! The integration of theory she uses to support her claims is masterful. I began listening to the audiobook, because it was cheaper & I go through a ton of counseling & psych books. I am a grad student in social work, and I'm also a therapy client trying to heal myself. I appreciate that this book targets "chronic shame" which as a central experience to a bunch of issues. The hundreds of books and articles I've researched seem like they were mostly ALL working back to this issue. In a psychology culture that is big on cognitive and chemical solutions to mental health, the relational approach that she emphasizes is critical to the healing process. I appreciate the research she uses from object relations, affect regulation, interpersonal, etc. I purchased the hard copy because 1. I can't underline/highlight an audiobook and 2. I want a copy of the references of theorists and study's that she draws from, because they are pure gold. All therapists need to understand the contents of this book! Unless you are perfectly fine offering band aid solutions. Clients and self-helpers beware. It's not triggering in terms of content, it is activating in the sense that she describes the felt experience of shame SO WELL. I could locate my own felt sense of shame which is, by default, unpleasant. Some stabilization and a decent therapeutic connection is probably necessary before cracking this book open. But that's why I love it. I needed to go deeper and get the core issues. And this book is like a map that guides you right to it.

One of the best books on shame out there
    Format: Paperback
As a shame researcher and educator, I often refer to DeYoung's book because it is so full of resources and relational tools for clinicians and individuals relating to the neurobiology of shame. It is a very small book with A LOT of information. Many references to the shame research and suggestions for treating shame in clinical practice from a perspective of right brain relationship dynamics. Thank you Patricia!

    Highly recommend.
    Format: Paperback
One of the most helpful, lucid, and comprehensive books on shame I've encountered. This was required reading for graduate school and is now one of my most returned to, dog-eared, and referenced books. Can't recommend enough.
