Exotica Moderne 29
A Sublime Escape Into Modern Tiki & Exotica Culture

Step into a shimmering world where mid-century exotica, space-age cocktails and island escapism converge. Exotica Moderne 29 is the latest issue from the discerning curators at House of Tabu, offering a radiant journey through bold visuals, rare music, and the rich cultural undercurrents of the tiki and lounge universe.

Inside this vibrant edition you’ll discover:

  • A stunning cover feature by artist Colleen Gnos, who transforms familiar tropes into lush, hyper-color compositions that reflect both nostalgia and modern edge.

  • A design-forward deep dive into the stylish bar Tikehau (Maui), where architecture, cocktails and décor marry in bold clarity.

  • A sonic expedition via the project Dubxotica by Gerald Schoenherr, explored by writer Skip Heller—showing how tradition recasts into neon-tinted groove.

  • A fascinating cultural detour: how Indian and Punjabi flavours made their way across oceans and left an indelible mark on island cuisine, investigated by Tiki Lindy.

  • And much more: a feature on the legendary The Tiki Ti “Shrunken Heads” saga, a spotlight on Arizona’s own TikiAZ collective, festive-themed home-bar styling, original drink recipes, eclectic music reviews—and the convergence of exotica, retro-futurism and late-night reverie.

Whether your compass points to vintage rum, lunar-inspired cocktails or vibey lounge grooves, this issue transports you into a world of escapism and design. Printed for connoisseurs of fine print, rare sounds and stylised cocktails, Exotica Moderne 29 is as much a visual home-bar accent as it is a reading experience.

For fans of: bamboo bar builds, vinyl deep cuts, and tropical modern design.

Knot their style
Format: Kindle
So I really enjoyed the story. I don’t really like dark omegaverse, surprisingly from the themes it did not go Dark. Instead, it stayed sweet. I like Serenity, you can tell just by the first scene that she was a fighter. She had to save her own life. Once she did save her own life she gets hit by a car. So then Pack Rhodes saves her life, I mean what do you do with a unconscious abused omega that you may or may not have hit with your car. Take her home of course. Loved this book and cant wait for the next one

Cute read
Format: Kindle
Overall, this was a cute read. I liked the characters mostly. Remy was a bit ridiculous at points. Would consider reading more by this author.

ABSOLUTELY A MUST for Omegaverse Girls!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Jillian West and her books!!! I’m so happy I already bought book two and now I have to buy the others for the Assurance Security series!! Not gonna lie Val kind of annoyed me at the beginning but she grew on me!! Her men are chef’s kisses!!! Holt annoys me some but I can let it slide. I already bought part two so I’m going to be reading that in between work phone calls!!!! DON’T TELL MY BOSS 😂😂😂😂

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.
