Hundreds of millions of years after that, the Great Race of Yith projected their minds into strange, conical beings and used their advanced technology to catalog knowledge throughout time. The serpent people were once the undisputed rulers of the world, even using their mastery of science and sorcery to subjugate early humans.

Whether through elements, predators, or their own over-reaching ambition, each of these mighty civilizations fell to ruin. The knowledge of these species has been kept from humanity, and yet, within these lost stories lies the only hope for the survival of mankind. 

Forsaken Lore , an expansion for Eldritch Horror, thrusts Investigators headlong into perilous and strange new encounters, while Ancient Ones defeated in the past attempt to reclaim the world. In order to stop them, Investigators must uncover new mysteries and dig even deeper into the lore surrounding the Ancient Ones with the help of new Research cards.

Meanwhile, Yig’s cultists and Serpent People work to prepare the way for the Father of Serpents to dominate our planet. With the help of powerful new Spells and Assets, along with mighty new Arfifacts, Investigators must once again race across the globe to prevent humanity’s destruction in Forsaken Lore .

The Father of Serpents

Many know that Yig’s punishment for those who harm his progeny is a terrible curse, but few know that long ago, the serpent people betrayed Yig and suffered his wrath. Now the survivors return, eager to conquer for their true master.

Yig, the Father of Serpents attempts to make his way into our world with the help of his cultists and the Serpent People. The Serpent People and the cultists of Yig work relentlessly to once more dominate the earth. Along with brutal new Epic Monsters, like the Winged Serpent and the Children of Yig, Investigators must also contend with the venomous nature of Yig’s serpents and their nasty bites. The new Poisoned condition punishes investigators who threaten Yig’s children, and Yig’s unique deck of Mystery cards forces investigators to uncover the ancient knowledge necessary to keep him at bay.

Yig’s Serpent People use the Serpent Crown Artifact to dominate the wills of those who oppose them. Break the hold of this archaic artifact before its too late in order to solve the Crown of the Serpent mystery, or examine expedition sites around the globe, and piece together the clues you find to solve the Migration of Serpents mystery.

With six unique Mysteries, and a host of Epic Monsters, Yig will prove a challenging adversary to even the most courageous and cunning of Investigators.

Strange New Mysteries

Investigators can now uncover new arcane mysteries unique to each Ancient One with the Forsaken Lore expansion.

Battle Yeb, an Epic Monster who has been called forth to purge the earth in preparation for the arrival of Shub-Niggurath to solve the Blasphemy of the Black Gate mystery. Discover the Voice of Azathoth with the help of the mysterious Massa di Requiem per Shuggay Artifact . Or, travel to the Void Between Worlds as you work to defeat Yog-Sothoth.

In order to solve these new Mysteries, investigators will need to delve further into the lore surrounding each Ancient One. The Forsaken Lore expansion adds eighty-eight new Research cards, brimming with strange and forbidden secrets for your investigators to uncover
