Achieve Precision Finishes and 5X Longer Life with Diablo Steel Demon Bi-Metal Thin Metal Cutting Blades

The Diablo DS0920BF 9-Inch Bi-Metal Reciprocating Saw Blade is engineered for the specialist who requires clean, burr-free cuts in light-gauge metals. Specifically designed for materials less than 1/8 inch thick, these blades are the industrial standard for HVAC installations, electrical conduit work, and sheet metal fabrication. Featuring an ultra-hardened HRC 62 cutting edge, these blades provide up to 5 times the operational life of standard bi-metal blades. The specialized 20/24 TPI (Teeth Per Inch) Dual Tooth design utilizes a double-tooth configuration with small gullets, ensuring rapid material removal and a significantly smoother finish while maintaining the structural integrity of thin-walled workpieces.

Maximum control and operator comfort are at the core of the Steel Demon design. These blades feature an oversized 1-inch demolition body that provides the stability and rigidity needed to prevent blade chatter and vibration, which is common when cutting thin stock. Diablo’s unique tip design enables faster and easier plunging, allowing you to start internal cuts without the need for a pilot hole. Each blade is fortified with a Perma-SHIELD® non-stick coating that protects against heat buildup, gumming, and corrosion, ensuring a cooler cutting experience and preserving the tooth sharpness. Whether you are using a corded or cordless reciprocating saw, this 9-inch blade delivers the reach and precision needed for professional results on every jobsite.

Key Features

  • 20/24 TPI Dual Tooth Design: Double tooth configuration provides faster material removal and extreme durability in thin-gauge metals.
  • Ultra-Hardened HRC 62 Edge: Delivers up to 5X longer cutting life than standard bi-metal blades for maximum productivity.
  • 1-Inch Oversized Demolition Body: Extra-rigid height produces straighter, cleaner cuts with significantly less vibration.
  • Perma-SHIELD® Coating: Industry-leading non-stick protection against heat buildup, gumming, and surface corrosion.
  • Specialized Plunge Tip: One-of-a-kind design facilitates rapid plunging into thin metal surfaces without binding.
  • Thin Metal Optimization: Engineered specifically for high-precision cuts in metals less than 1/8" thick.

Pro-Tip: When cutting thin sheet metal or conduit, maintain a high saw speed but do not force the blade through the material. I love VSI on Kindle
Format: eTextbook
The thing is they take a long time to read because of the look up feature. It's like reading a book in the Library of Congress.

There are few who are capable of telling the story ...
Format: Paperback
There are few who are capable of telling the story of plate techtonics including critical details. Peter Molnar is one of those chosen few who can deliver such a story succinctly and precisely.

Very nice, but very short, book on the subject.
Format: Paperback
This is a very nice, but very short, book on the subject. I learned quite a bit and enough to delve into structural geology and related subjects.

Excellent 120 pages book on a complex subject.
Format: Paperback
I thought this was an excellent 120 pages book on a complex subject. It discusses a variety of subjects besides the title of plate tectonics and which are related to it: continental drift, oceanic seafloor spreading, fracture zones, subduction of tectonic plate edges, faulting, the creation of mountains and plateaus, earthquakes, volcanism, oceanic magnetic anomalies, and the locations of concentrated metallic ores. The text is accompanied by almost 40 sketches and diagrams elaborating on the discussions provided in the text. The book also introduces the grand concepts of Earth geology such as the mantle, lithosphere, and asthenosphere. It also provides a short history of the development of the concept of plate tectonics. Finally, the book provides specific detailed descriptions of the formation of major mountain ranges and plateaus such as the Himalayas, the Tibetan Plateau, Tien Shan, the Tarim Basin, the movement of Eastern Asia, the Andes, and the western US mountain ranges. It also gives a short description of the movement of India from the eastern edge of the African Plate to the Eurasian Plate over the past 90+ million years.

Books like this have to be leavened with a human dimension ...
Format: Paperback
This book is too technical for people who are new to the subject of plate tectonics. In fact, I think it is fair to say that if you can understand this book you don't need to read it but if you need to read it you won't understand it. Books like this have to be leavened with a human dimension in the form of stories about people. This book has such stories but they are very brief and tend to get burried under the tecnical detail. There are other books in the "A Very Short Introduction" series which give far more accessible introductions to plate tectonic (e.g. "Earth Science: A Very Short Introduction"). I would suggest that anyone who was entirely new to the subject should read one of them instead.
