Waarom is de CATCH-IT VANGBAND specifiek aanlokkelijk voor zaagwespen?

Zaagwespen worden specifiek aangetrokken door witte oppervlakken die geen UV-licht weerkaatsen. Hiervoor is in het verleden voor monitoring-doeleinden de witte kruisval REBELL BIANCO ontwikkeld. Echter is er voor intensieve monitoring een groter vangoppervlak nodig, waardoor hiervoor CATCH-IT ontwikkeld is.

De specifieke witte kleur van de CATCH-IT-vangbanden wordt door zaagwespen beschouwd als een 'superbloesem', aangezien deze witte kleur overeen stemt met de witte kroonblaadjes van de appel- en perenbloemen waartoe zaagwespen aangetrokken worden. De vangbanden gaan dus op deze manier in concurrentie met deze witte kroonblaadjes. 

Wanneer en hoe kan ik de CATCH-IT VANGBAND het beste gebruiken?
  • Hang CATCH-IT uit voor het verschijnen van de eerste bloemen.
  • Hang de vangband strak vast tussen de dwarsdraden in uw perceel. Schiet zowel boven- als onderaan nog enkele nietjes in de vangband zodat deze zeker goed vasthangt.
  • Afhankelijk van het aantal en de hoogte van de kan een lengte tussen 1 en 2,5m vangband opgehangen worden. Ophangen vanaf 1m boven de grond; meeste vangsten bovenin de boom.
  • Hoe hoger de verwachte zaagwespendruk en hoe voller het boomvolume (minder zicht op wit door de rijen), hoe groter het aantal op te hangen vangbanden. Wij adviseren om tussen de 150 en 250 vangbanden per ha uit te hangen. Bij voorkeur de vangbanden geschrankt ophangen tussen de rijen.
  • Verwijder de vangbanden na de vluchtperiode van de zaagwespen (na de bloei) uit de boomgaard, om ongewilde bijvangsten van andere (nuttige) insecten te minimaliseren.

Wat zijn de benodigdheden om de CATCH-IT VANGBAND in te zetten?
  • Afrolhulp om de CATCH-IT rol op te bevestigen (wordt niet bijgeleverd).
  • Nietjesmachine
  • Scherp mes (cuttermes)
  • Latex handschoenen
  • Wasbenzine om handen achteraf schoon mee te wassen

In de boomgaard is het aangeraden om dwarsdraden in het perceel te hebben. Zo kan je de CATCH-IT op een relatief makkelijke manier gaan uithangen tussen de bomen.
