De zelf is relatief groot en is verdeeld in twee grote 'eilanden' op de helling van het Solutré-gebergte. De basis van deze heuvelrug bestaat uit hard kalksteen uit het Jura-tijdperk, terwijl de westelijke, steilere hellingen een combinatie bevatten met grijze mergel. De Cuvée Côte Dorée is afkomstig van de zeer steile stukken wijngaard van de hoogste kwaliteit, die de gemiddelde kwaliteit van Saint-Véran ruim overstijgt. De fermentatie van dit fijne sap vindt deels plaats op inox en deels op houten vaten. Dit zorgt voor een frisse en krokante aanzet in neus en mond maar al snel een gebalanceerd en mond vullende middenbouw. Schitterende wijn voor Bourgogne-liefhebbers, uitermate complex en in harmonie.
