Verzorging:

Licht: Calathea orbifolia houdt van helder, indirect licht. Vermijd direct zonlicht, omdat dit de bladeren kan verbranden.
Water: De grond moet vochtig blijven, maar niet doorweekt. Laat de bovenste laag van de aarde licht opdrogen tussen gietbeurten. Gebruik bij voorkeur gedestilleerd of regenwater om kalkophoping te vermijden.
Temperatuur: Ideaal tussen 18°C en 24°C. Bescherm de plant tegen koude tocht en temperaturen onder de 15°C.
Luchtvochtigheid: Calathea orbifolia heeft hoge luchtvochtigheid nodig (minimaal 60%). Besproei de bladeren regelmatig of gebruik een luchtbevochtiger om de luchtvochtigheid te verhogen.
Grond: Goed doorlatende, vochtige potgrond is het beste, bijvoorbeeld een mix voor tropische planten.
Bemesting: Maandelijks bemesten in het groeiseizoen (lente en zomer) met een lichte vloeibare meststof.
Snoeien: Verwijder dode of beschadigde bladeren om de plant er netjes uit te laten zien.
