De wijnen worden gemaakt met veel respect voor de natuur en daarbij kiest het wijnhuis er voor om zich vooral te richten op duurzame technieken om wijn te maken. De naam Babydoll, met op het etiket een klein schaap, is ontstaan omdat de wijnmaakster een natuurlijke grasmaaier wilde door de wijngaarden. De kleine schapen kunnen niet aan de trossen snoepen omdat deze hoger liggen dan dat zij zelf zijn. De Babydoll wordt immers slechts tussen de 45 cm en 60 cm. Marlborough is een fantastische regio waarbij de Sauvignon Blanc druiven fantastisch groeien. De kleine schapen geven de wijngaarden leven en dat proeven we ook terug in de stuivende en verfrissende smaak. De droge en warme zomerdagen zorgen voor een gelijkmatige kwaliteit. De koelte is afkomstig van de zee, wind en natuurlijk de nacht temperatuur, die hard kan dalen. Dit draagt bij aan een geweldig en enorm lang groeiseizoen waarbij de Sauvignon Blanc druiven alles kunnen opnemen uit de rijke omgeving. De bodem structuur bestaat vooral uit mineralen en dat proeven we ook weer terug in deze witte Babydoll Sauvignon Blanc.Hoe smaakt de Babydoll Sauvignon Blanc?
Alle druiven zijn afkomstig van de wijngaarden in de Awatere-vallei en de Wairau-vallei. Na de oogst worden alle percelen apart van elkaar gefermenteerd waarna de wijnmaker van Babydoll de bellen maakt. Nou laat dat maar aan Natalie Christensen over, want wat is dit een top wijn! Zodra de fles open gaat ruiken we de Sauvignon Blanc druif al; mooie nuances van passievrucht en citrus schillen. De kleur is helder met een groene schittering waarbij de neus wordt geprikkeld door grapefruit, passievrucht en wat groene kruiden zoals munt. De frisse smaak geeft de tong een betoverend gevoel met veel frisheid van zowel wit als citrus fruit. Achter op de tong en gehemelte nuances van limoen en venkel wat alles compleet maakt.Shipping Notes

Exceptional quality!
I have had these dishes for two years and highly recommend them. For the price, it is unbeatable. These have the benefits of significantly higher priced dishes. They are a solid weight, which is an important factor in preventing them from being too hot to touch after microwaving. When filled with freshly brewed coffee, the mugs can be on the verge of being too hot to touch, but there is no issue if holding from the handles. I have a fireclay sink that could cause issues with weaker dishes. The handles on the coffee mugs have proven durable over time. I have never experienced a crack in the mugs, even where the handles meet the mugs. I have dropped dishes over time. These do not splinter or shatter into tiny pieces like comparably priced dishes. These crack into large pieces. I have endured chips and cracks in a bowl and plate. Neither broke apart further, despite hot or cold temperatures from microwave, dishwasher, or ice cream. I have not experienced any staining over time. The dishes clean very well in the dishwasher. The minimalist style, weight, and functionality of these dishes compare to sets that cost significantly more money at luxury brand stores.

Good design and size.
I was surprised at the quality. of this dish set. The cups were well balanced and delightful to use. The bowls are of good shape and just the right size for a bowl of cereal or soup.

Minimalist, imperfect but certainly reasonably good for the price
This is a set of 16 pieces, all of which are usable and practically sized, including the coffee/tea/beverage cups. While this is absolutely not high quality it is more than expected for $30 or so. The dishes are on the heavier side, not very lightweight brittle. I doubt they are break resistant. While they appear bone white, which they are, I'm not sure they are pure white (almost.) Some dishes will feature some small imperfections, like a small dot here and there, nothing too terrible. Stacking them is where you'll notice that the large plates are absolutely not perfect and you'll see that the ends are not perfect by rotating the plates and you'll notice areas they go slightly up and down. Again, nothing really noticeable or terrible unless you stack them.
If you've got a dorm room, don't care too much about having anything more than a minimalist set of reasonable quality dishes that you won't get embarrassed about for serving casual meals, this makes for a decent set. Hopefully they are safe (supposedly Amazon says they are) and they are made in China.
If you're wondering about branding, on the bottom of each item there is a conspicuous amazon basics logo.
