Macán Clásico 2020 is een verfijnde en evenwichtige Rioja die de klassieke elegantie van de streek combineert met een moderne precisie. In de neus tonen van rijpe rode en zwarte kers, pruim en framboos, aangevuld met cederhout, subtiele specerijen en een lichte balsamico-toets. In de mond is de wijn soepel en gelaagd, met frisse zuren, fijnkorrelige tannines en een mooie spanning tussen fruit, kruidigheid en mineraliteit. De afdronk is lang, zuiver en elegant, met een opvallende verfijning.

Vinificatie.
De druiven worden met de hand geoogst en streng geselecteerd uit hooggelegen wijngaarden in Rioja Alta. Na temperatuurgecontroleerde fermentatie volgt een maceratie gericht op finesse en balans. De wijn rijpt ongeveer 12 tot 14 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten, met een gematigd aandeel nieuw hout om structuur en complexiteit te geven zonder het fruit te overheersen. Aansluitend volgt flesrijping vóór vrijgave, zodat de wijn al mooi geïntegreerd op de markt komt.

Het domein.
Macán is een gezamenlijk project van Vega Sicilia en de familie Rothschild, ontstaan uit een gedeelde visie om Tempranillo uit Rioja naar een nieuw kwaliteitsniveau te tillen. Het domein werkt met grote aandacht voor terroir, selectie en precisie, zowel in de wijngaard als in de kelder. Duurzaamheid en milieubewustzijn spelen een steeds grotere rol, met focus op gezonde bodems, lage opbrengsten en respect voor het natuurlijke evenwicht. Macán Clásico weerspiegelt deze filosofie perfect: een Rioja met elegantie, diepgang en een groot rijpingspotentieel.
