Merinowol is ademend, antibacterieel en jeukt niet en daardoor ook erg geschikt voor kindjes met eczeem of een gevoelige huid. Het Hvid dekentje is door zijn medium dikte geschikt voor ieder seizoen.

Wol heeft van nature zelfreinigende eigenschappen waardoor de deken weinig gewassen hoeft te worden. Mocht hij toch een vlek krijgen dan kun je deze het beste plaatselijk schoonmaken voor het beste resultaat. Het buiten hangen van de deken of het ophangen in een vochtige badkamer helpt om de geur weer fris te maken.

Wanneer het dekentje toch gewassen moet worden is het belangrijk om de wol met de hand te wassen in lauw water (maximaal 20°C) en een klein beetje wolwasmiddel te gebruiken.
