Wederom een parel van een wijn uit Zuid-Afrika. Wijn maken is aan het wijnhuis De Wetshof wel besteed! De Wetshof Estate ligt in de wijnregio Robertson, ongeveer 160 kilometer van Kaapstad. Johann de Wet, vader van de huidige eigenaar van het De Wetshof Estate, Danie, legde de basis voor het domein zoals het nu is in 1952. De Robertson-vallei wordt gekenmerkt door koude winters en zonnige zomers met een gemiddelde jaarlijkse regenval van 400 millimeter. In de zomer heeft een frisse zuidelijke bries een verkoelend effect op de wijngaarden, waardoor de druiven gelijkmatig en in perfecte balans rijpen. Nachten zijn fris en tijdens de zomermaanden hult een mist de wijngaarden vaak tot laat in de ochtend.De beste wijn van De Wetshof
De druiven worden in de ochtend handmatig geoogst. Het fruit van deze wijngaard kenmerkt zich door de prachtige elegante complexiteit van peren en citrusvruchtenaroma’s. Zodra het ontstemmen, persen en overnacht bezinken zijn voltooid, wordt het sap uit het sediment verwijderd en verplaatst naar Franse eiken vaten. Deze zijn speciaal gekozen om de fruitkwaliteit te verbeteren tijdens vatfermentatie en rijping. Na de gisting blijft de wijn onder gecontroleerde temperaturen op de droesem. Wekelijks roeren (battonnage) van de droesem in de vaten zorgt voor een maximale smaakdiepte in de wijn. Na enkele maanden worden de wijnen van de droesem gehaald en teruggebracht in vaten om de houtrijping te voltooien totdat deze de gewenste standaard voor bottelen heeft bereikt.Vol en zeer krachtig deze Bateleur Chardonnay
De Bateleur verbetert in afmeting en complexiteit met de leeftijd en onder de juiste bewaaromstandigheden kan hij vele jaren rijpen in de fles. Deze Chardonnay heeft een intense en brede geur, licht getoast, maar ook mooi citrusfruit, krachtig en subtiel tegelijk, rokerig, subtiel. Great Buy! Nice robe!

I love this robe. I bought it for myself as a Christmas present ( 2024) and it’s the best robe I have ever had. It’s soft, warm, long, and very comfortable. I’ve washed it several times over the past year and it still maintains its same quality, looking and feeling as brand new.

Warm and comfy

Super soft, warm and comfy. I bought the adult size. I'm 5'11" and medium build. It's roomy and comes down to the middle of my shin. Typical robe style except that it does not open. It slips on like a shirt. May not be great if you have to go to the bathroom a lot. Otherwise awesome, I bought 2 for my sister's.

Keeps me nice and warm in Alaskan winters!

As you've probably guessed from the title of my review, I live in Alaska. In my part of the state, the temperature gets down to as low as -25°F in the winter, so I decided to get this to help keep myself warm. (Part of it was self preservation; my mom flat-out refuses to turn the heat up past 69° F.) And it doesn't help that I have defective fat either. Apparently my body thinks I live in the Southern Hemisphere or something, because it keeps me warm in what would be winter for them, but is summer for me. The opposite happens in the winter for me. So I decided to bite the bullet and make the purchase...and let me tell you, this blanket/robe works MARVELOUSLY! It's so fluffy and warm, I rarely have to turn on my space heater anymore.
Now I'll admit, I was a little hesitant to bite the bullet because I'm a BBW, and most things labeled 'oversized' really aren't. (All my plus-size peeps out there know the struggle.) However, this blanket/robe is different! Not only does it fit, I have plenty of room to spare. For the record, I'm 5'6 1/2 - the half matters, trust me - and 321 lbs. But it's a little long...which is to be expected, since it's made for somebody up 6'5. So what I did to prevent mine from dragging was tie the belt underneath the pocket every time I need to leave my room, as seen in the picture. (Yes, I can still use the pocket during this time) That way, I don't have to sacrifice the extra room in favor of a shorter length. I also like how the sherpa is inside the hood as well. Between it and the elastic cuffs at the wrist, I could practically live in this blanket/robe!
I also purchased this in the adult size, but in dream blue. Again, I was nervous because I didn't know if it would fit me or not. Kinda felt like I was pushing my luck there. Fortunately, my fears were unfounded. Not only does it fit as well, I have a bit of room to spare. (See the last picture if you wanna compare the two sizes.) It's not as long as the oversized version, though. The adult size stops about halfway down past my knees, whereas the oversized can pool around my feet. It's not quite as roomy on me as the oversized one is either, but I bought it to walk around outside in, so that's a good thing. More room = more air getting inside to make me cold.
As of the date of this review, however, the slit no longer has the ability to snap closed on either of these robes. That was a bit of a bummer. But everything else is perfect, including the purple and blue being true to color. If you're on the fence about this blanket/robe, just do it! You'll be glad you did.

Fire resistant saved my life!

Saved my life!
I love this snuggie. I'm 5'6" and the oversized drags when I walk. Its my outdoor fireplace blanket. Went to a neighbors last night and the fire tipped over towards me. Hot ash landed on my snuggie. After a stop drop and roll, the only thing damaged was my snuggie. Yes, I need to order another, but the material did great with fire.
On a normal night, it's warm and cozy and keeps me warm on chilly outdoor nights.

This blanket is a must have! I purchased several to compare and decide which one was going to make the cut. There was absolutely no competition. This is the softest, most luxurious, coziest and authentic looking blanket. I told my sweetheart THIS is the cozy time blanket! Luxury at its finest!
