Hij begon als een jonge stroper, die zich inmiddels gevestigd heeft als betrouwbare kwaliteitsproducent van wijnen. De sympathieke en bescheiden wijnmaker wil eerlijke wijnen produceren die in het hart stromen. Zijn wijnen hoeven niet per se wijncritici te plezieren, maar geven iedereen drank en plezier. Voordat Frank Spiegel in 2008 bij het bootbedrijf kwam, volgde hij een opleiding tot wijnmaker bij de gerenommeerde wijnhuizen Münzberg en Knipser. Vervolgens studeerde hij wijnbouw- en keldertechnologie in Geisenheim, waaronder een semester in het buitenland in Bordeaux. De Ellermann-wijnmakerij, voorheen alleen bekend om vatwijnen, kende een snelle opleving toen het begon. Frank Spiegel kan nu terugvallen op een wijngaardgebied van meer dan 30 hectare, gelegen in het pittoreske zuidelijke Palts, tussen Edenkoben en Landau. Alle druiven worden met de hand geoogst, en rijpt tot slot twaalf maanden op houten vaten en roestvrijstalen tanks. De kenmerken van Saint Laurent lijken op die van een Spatburgunder, echter is de wijn wat boerser, complexer en intenser. Effie girl
Format: Kindle
I really enjoyed this intro into a new shifter world. This
is a university setting RH shifter book. We have 5 alpha males (4 wolves and 1 non wolf) all with their own problems but they all are instantly possessive and attentive towards our FMC Effie. This book takes place in the span of 3 days where a lot happens. I have a lot of thoughts. I really liked it yet I was also really frustrated at times with it. So here we go
Pros:
The 4 MC’s Tore, Dakota, Caedmon, and Julian are instantly possessive and all about Effie our FMC. I love this because lately all I’ve been seeing is the rejected mate story line and this is definitely NOT that. I love books where the alphas don’t have to be jerks and reject their women which ours don’t do.
The men our all relatable in trying to work through some of there own issues while still caring and being attentive to Effie. They aren’t perfect knights in shinning armor but it’s clear they try hard to make her feel special and important to them.
The writing is flawless and it was incredibly easy to continue reading (literally finished this book in one sitting)
Cons:
There was so much more inner monologue than actually dialogue between characters. Usually I don’t mine this but while reading it (on my kindle) the monologue had like 4 whole pages in between two sentences of dialogue here and there. It was just irritating not getting much actually conversation. (I was I think 12% in to this book before there was an actually dialogue. It was all Effies internal monologue or flash backs)
The world building left a bit to be desired because I still have tons of questions mainly about the types of wolves but I understand this is part of the naivety store line but still
This whole book takes place in the span of three days. No big ah ha action packed moments happened until the very last chapter. A lot of it was build up for the next 4 books I’m sure but it’s still frustrating because coming out of it I still feel like I know relatively nothing about this world. Each guy is a different species of wolf get we know nothing about any of them other than Fenrir wolves can’t shift.
- 4.5 stars because I definitely will pick up the second book. Book 1 ended in a cliff hanger so I’m eager to see what happens. I hope we get a bit longer storyline though and allow it time to develop so we get more information over all. This is a good book and I definitely recommend giving it a try. It’s a good start to a new series.

wow!!

I mean I was losing interest when I first started to read the first few chapters but I was still caught in the underlining description of what life was like for Effie. Then once she left to go to the University I was wrapped around the story. Very emotional and gripping as I understood the characters better. I'm glad I ordered the second book because I think this is going to be a very compelling series. I must say I'm not good with angst. But miss Sinclair has a talented flair for storytelling. I'm invested now to see it through.

Absolutely Fantastic!

Once again M. Sinclair has created another masterpiece!
This book was so unlike anything else I have read! It was such a unique twist on a shifter book that I was absolutely compelled from beginning to end. Effie made my heart all warm and fuzzy, she is just such a naturally kind person despite all of the things she has gone through. Her huge heart shines through in all she does.
Then their are her mates...protective, caring, and possessive Effie’s mates are just as much attracted and attached as Effie is to them. Their bond is instantaneous and strong. Despite Effie not knowing what to make of it at first and seeing it as to good to be true, her mates take it in totally stride.
I love the connections they have all built in such a short period of time. Effie brings a unique dynamic to this group. I am sitting at the edge of my seat waiting to see where this story goes. There are so many questions that that ending left and I genuinely cannot wait for more! I have grown super attached to these characters that more of their story can’t come soon enough!

Pretty decent

#1: it’s gross when a guy is getting hard and thinking about sex while A GIRL IS UNCONSCIOUS AND DYING. If you were in the hospital would you want your boy/girlfriend thinking of having sex with you while you were nearly dead??? No. I think not. That’s gross. Yeah, actually I was gonna rate this 4 starts but I’m making it 3 just because that was literally so gross. They thought about sec at the WORST times.
Found myself skipping pages at a time of just them talking to themselves.
Would have liked it better if the author showed and not told.
Pages and pages of inner monologue.
I hate it when they have “mysterious” dreams.
Not a fan of huge age gaps.
Why was only one of them telepathic??
No clue diff types of wolves. Not explained well and their “abilities”. Why can one not shift???
Didn’t understand the first between the guys where the one ran up to her and looked at her and ran away???? And she literally saw him get out of his truck and then 10 minutes later acted like she had never seen such a nice truck before.
Thought she should have been a tiny bit more shy and not holding hands wishing 5 seconds of meeting them.
College part is boring. Nothing new. Everyone’s done that.
Where’s the plot???
Didn’t understand the stand off with the dad/principle and random guy showing up??
Wow this makes me seem like I hate it but it was good lol. Seems like an authors first book but I don’t think it is. Could be longer with more detail to really get to know everyone. Would have liked a better look at her past. Not past past, but even a week or two before she went to college.

I never learn

That plunge and suspense and there's a secret but I'm not telling you....
Dear M. Sinclair, I hate your genius self and the way you do this everything. I'm sucked in and the next thing I know *plunge* its over.
Effie Harlow! Effie, Effie, effieeeeeeee omg what a life. I'm amazed at how its only been days.. DAYS in her journey. We get a nice sum of her trials and tribulations at her "Pack" as she's arriving at SFU & as she gets to know her psychos. Love how each of the guys brong something different, you never get the same psycho twice in one grouping. And there is so much to explore in their liveeeeeesssss. likeI want a book going down the rabbit hole of each guys trauma RN! We don't know the mystery of Effie, but M & atleast one of her guys knows. Its interesting seeing the dynamics and the different types of Wolf shifters and then shifters in general. It's a foundation that gives you so much and so little at the same time. It answers certain questions quickish while letting you guessing more. Effies lost memories will be very important on this journey. At first I was hoping the past was what was bringing her to SFU not what really did. A friggin twist and great ive shatterer... (that doesn't sound like a good phrase but litteraly shattered ice bc of it)
I just need all of M. Sinclair series to be never ending... I'm finding myself too emotionally invested in all the Gals & psychos. Or better yet a portal leading to a seat in part of her brain where these stories reside with an unlimited supply of 🍿 so I can watch all the adventures unfold. I don't know how I wait for her books... but they are soooo worth the wait weather its months or a year. but if you'd like to slide over the next book next week we won't complain 😉
