Het vogelbekdier uit de schleich® WILD LIFE themawereld is een van de weinige eierleggende zoogdieren. Het hoort thuis in Australië. Met zijn snavel neemt hij elektrische signalen van andere dieren waar en kan op deze manier prooidieren opsporen. In tegenstelling tot andere zoogdieren heeft het vogelbekdier een heel lage lichaamstemperatuur van maar 32 graden Celsius. De figuren van schleich worden natuurgetrouw en altijd op schaal nagemaakt.
