This FABULOUS vintage c1970's set of six chairs is made with natural varnished bamboo for the framework, and woven rattan for the back rests. It is an authentic retro set! It also includes six new perfectly fitting padded seat cushions in a white + camel pin stripe.

I find these chairs beautifully quirky & sculptural, and I also love their unique woven rattan back rests (I've not seen any quite like this before). I have included the last image for inspiration only. It is from an online article by Remodelista titled 'An 1890 Brooklyn Townhouse, Reinvented for Modern Times', demonstrating how wonderful this style of vintage chairs can look, in this case placed singularly with contrasting furniture.

Condition:

While the seats are in good strong and functional condition, I have attended to some minor restoration where the wicker binding had come loose or broken on a few of the joins. As the joins are strong, this unravelling did not affect function but it is good to have the binding firmly in place again, albeit a bit less of it on some joins where breakages existed. There is one join without binding covering the whole join (on a back leg), please see close up image of this. I have also noticed on very close inspection that there are small areas where the woven rattan isn't 100% perfect on a couple of chairs, again please see close up image. These imperfections are barely noticeable & do not affect function. There are no breaks in the bamboo frames at all.

Overall these chairs are in excellent condition for their approximate 50 years.

Unfortunately free shipping does not apply to this product. Delivery will need to be arranged by either the buyer or myself, from the Corowa area of NSW, as soon as is practical. Local pick up is always an option too if you are able to collect them.
