NAD CI 8-150 DSP v2 Multi-Channel Network Power AmplifierThe original CI 8 150 DSP offered NADs Masters Series performance in the rack space, its tough to improve on that performance and so the CI 8 150 DSP v2 retains those performance levels, adding a new user interface, more features and improved efficiency. The original CI 8-150 DSP offered NAD’s Masters Series performance in the rack space, it’s tough to improve on that performance and so the CI 8-150 DSP v2 retains those performance levels, adding a new user interface, more features and improved efficiency.

Full Disclosure Power

The sophisticated CI 8-150 DSP v2 is capable of delivering a conservative 150 watts per channel at 8 ohms into all channels simultaneously, bridgeable to 280 watts per channel. IHF Dynamic Power in bridged mode is 4 x 670 watts per channel at 4 ohms.

As per NAD’s FDP ratings, the power we declare is what you can expect in the real world, we rate our amplifiers based on continuous power into 8ohms, with all channels running simultaneously, using a full frequency response and THD at rated power.

No matter what you throw at the CI 8-150 DSP v2, it won’t flinch.

Hybrid Digital Amplification

The CI 8-150 DSP v2 is designed to deliver uncompromised performance within the custom environment. With its nCore output stage, the CI 8-150 DSP v2 shares the same pedigree as some of NAD’s prestigious Masters Series amplifiers. What makes this amplifier unique is its ability to deliver a level of detail and refinement unmatched by any distribution amplifier on the market today. Being load invariant with a high current output, the CI 8-150 DSP v2 is as comfortable driving 4 ohm loads as it is 8 ohm. The THD and noise floors are beyond what you’d expect from a CI amplifier, meaning that the dynamic range and linearity of this amplifier wouldn’t be out of place in a hi-fi set up.

Rack Space Efficiency and Reliability

NAD is keenly aware that reliability is paramount for a professional installer, so all models will be based on tried and true amplification platforms delivering stable and reliable performance. Since rack real estate is always at a premium, NAD CI amps have been designed to take up as little room as possible. Thermostatic fans draw in cool air from the front of the unit and out through the rear vents, meaning you don’t need to leave ventilation gaps between each unit for them to stay cool. For the CI 8-150 DSP v2 efficiency and heat dissipation has been improved even further by adding the ability for unused amplifier channels to switch off completely in Zone Sleep mode.

Web UI/DSP

The CI 8-150 DSP v2 is network ready for simple set up, via the custom WebUI. The updated interface still allows fast set up of IO but with new clearer layout, plus the creation of DSP profiles using the Parametric EQ. In addition is a new Dashboard, providing a live read out of the unit’s status, improved power management, faster startup time, user password protection, channel grouping and global input on/off per zone and zone sleep with instant wake time. Over and above the previous V1, there is an expanded DSP suite with Peak and RMS limiters, delay and phase control so that bridged channels can safely be used to power subwoofers. I/O switching and routing can also be managed via compatible control systems with drivers available for Crestron, Control4, Elan & RTI.

System Suggestion

Combine the CI 8-150 DSP v2 with an NAD CI BluOS Enabled audio streamer to create a complete, hi- res multi-room package of incredible value and quality. Such is the power and performance of this amplifier, it’s also at home in a high end custom theatre, and can easily be paired with a T 778 AV receiver or M17 V2 AV processor.

This is a smart book, an interesting book but it was hard for me to read as the style was more technical/detached than i like. It worked for the story but not for the kind of reader I am. It is worth the read though despite this 3.5

Very creative and engaging
Format: Hardcover
Kinda blown away that this is a first novel! In a not-so-distant future, the protagonist Lee is a recent grad of an elite Program where she has dedicated her life to achievement. She's disappointed to be sent to a no-name company and assigned to a mysterious project. Learning she must gather data to help AI become more human, it's sadly funny as the only way she knows to gather data is by going online. I really loved the book's portrayal of the future, in which NYC is a dead city and the Midwest is where all the action is. The future portrayed here is just a tad more digitized than our current time. Instead of cooking people order food and it is delivered instantly (not just meals, but like if you want a cookie it's delivered instantly), purchase clothing by tapping the glass display windows at empty stores, and eat at restaurants by tapping on screens and having food shot out at them by machines. When Lee discovers a "primitive" restaurant that is actually staffed by humans and has menus, she is drawn to the place over and over again and starts to discover the magic of real life interaction. Lee, who is socially awkward to the point of agony, gradually becomes comfortable interacting with humans IRL. It's touching and funny as she navigates things like friendship, getting drinks or coffee and even dating. But the book takes a dark turn as Lee's drive for perfection and her assignment to "experience life" for the AI spin out of control. This book started off reminding me of "The Factory" by Hiroko Amayada and turned into shades of "The Rosie Project". Touching and truly original, well worth reading!

Poignant
Format: Hardcover
This is definitely a slow burn. A poignant look at the idea of loneliness, though I often think about how the technology presented in near future worlds make people feel less tangibly human.
