The Daiwa Airity SF 2500SS-H-QD sits at the very top of Daiwa's finesse spinning reel range — a genuine Japanese domestic-market reel engineered without compromise for anglers who demand the absolute best from ultralight tackle. At the 2500 size with a high-speed 5.7:1 gear ratio, it covers an exceptionally broad range of techniques: from drop-shotting and soft-plastics for river perch and chub, to finesse sea bass on estuaries and surf, to light rock fishing (LRF) along rocky coastline for wrasse and pollock, and compact jig fishing for mackerel and garfish from the pier. The 2500SS-H build — super-shallow spool, high-gear retrieve — pairs especially well with light braided line and longer casts of small lures, where every gram of reel weight and every millimetre of spool diameter makes a real difference.
The Quick-Drag (QD) feature is the other standout: a fingertip-operated drag wheel on the rear of the spool lets you open and reset drag pressure in a single motion without releasing your grip on the rod.
