NASH, Frederick. Picturesque Views of the City of Paris and Its Environs; Consisting of Views on the Seine, Public Buildings, Characteristic Scenery, &c. With Appropriate Descriptions. The Original Drawings by Mr. Frederick Nash; The Literary Department by Mr. John Scott; Translated into French by M.P.B. de La Boissiere. London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown. 1820 [-23].

Large 4to. Contemporary calf-backed marbled boards, spine with raised bands, lettered in gilt, ornamented in blind, marbled endpapers; 57 plates, copper-engraved after Frederick Nash (most with tissue guards), with accompanying text in English and French, a little wear to extremities, hinges with repairs; a few plates with foxing, others with light, mostly marginal spotting; text remarkably clean and fresh; contemporary Milan and Paris bookdealer's label inside front cover.

First edition. Frederick Nash, studied architectural drawing under Thomas Malton and later enrolled at the Royal Academy of Arts. In 1810, he became a member of Society of Painters in Watercolours, whose members had seceded from the Royal Academy over complaints that their work was not being recognized. Nash established a reputation as a painter of landscapes, especially of scenes in Germany and France such as the ones reproduced in these engravings.

For tough chewers
This is great for my large puppy. It has taken a beating, and I trim off any hanging or loose pieces of rubber. It has survived the test of time.

We call it the brick.
Great chew toy. Not really made for playing fetch. It’s large and very heavy. Good construction.
