Action:  Fenistil is a gel for use on the skin. Fenistil contains the active substance dimetindene maleate, which inhibits the action of histamine - a compound responsible for allergic reactions. When applied to the skin, the drug has a local anti-allergic effect, has a strong anti-itching effect (excluding cholestatic pruritus), reduces swelling and soothes irritations. It has local anesthetic properties. It cools, which additionally soothes irritated skin.

How to use:  the drug is intended for use on the skin. Usually, unless your doctor advises otherwise, the medicine should be applied 2 to 4 times a day, covering the affected and itchy skin surface with a thin layer of gel.

Composition: 1g of gel contains: active substance: dimethindene maleate 1mg. Other ingredients: benzalkonium chloride, sodium edetate, carbomer (carbopol 974 P), sodium hydroxide 30%, propylene glycol, purified water.

Contraindications:  allergy to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine; second and third degree burns.

Warnings and precautions:  when using Fenistil on an extensive skin surface, avoid exposing the areas covered with it to sunlight. Tell your doctor if itching is severe or if the lesions are extensive. If you have any doubts about the use of Fenistil gel, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using it. Avoid using the medicine on large skin surfaces in young children, especially in cases of wounds, burns and skin inflammation. Fenistil contains: propylene glycol - the drug may cause skin irritation; Benzalkonium chloride - the drug irritates and may cause skin reactions.

Interactions with other medicines:  Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding:  If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. The medicine should not be applied to a large area of ​​the skin, especially if it is injured or inflamed. Do not use on nipples during breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines:  Fenistil applied to the skin does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
