A high strength formula of Vitamins and Minerals for bone health and strength.
- Includes vitamins C, D, and K for strong bones
- Supports healthy connective tissue
- Plus added zinc, copper, manganese, and boron
- High strength calcium (266mg per 2 x capsules)
- Vegetarian friendly
Benefits
1 in 2 women will suffer a bone fracture after the age of 50, women going through menopause often find that bone density falls owing to a drop in oestrogen levels increasing their risk of developing osteoporosis.
Strong healthy bones depend on a regular supply of calcium and also vitamin D.
How will Strong Bone Support Help?
Our Strong Bone Support combines vital vitamins and minerals that have been expertly designed to provide the body with what it needs to help maintain bone health and strength:
1. Calcium Carbonate: About 99% of calcium from your diet goes straight to your teeth and bones. If calcium stores are low your body takes what it needs from your bones, causing the bones to become thin and brittle. Our Strong Bone Support delivers a daily dose of 700mg of Calcium Carbonate, providing 266mg of highly absorbable calcium.
2. Vitamin K2: Vitamin K2 plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy bone density by distributing calcium from the bloodstream into the bone - vitamin K2 helps re-distribute the calcium for bone utilisation.
3. Vitamin C: Vitamin C is important for the formation of collagen production, the protein that makes joints, and bones strong. Vitamin C has been shown to reduce knee osteoarthritis progression by 3 times. It is also vital for stimulating bone-building cells (osteoblasts) which fights the effects of osteoporosis.
4. Vitamin D: Vitamin D is needed for the body to absorb calcium which is used in bones and blood clotting. When Vitamin D is in short supply, less calcium is absorbed from food so our body saps the calcium from our bones to support blood clotting making bones brittle. Those at risk of osteoporosis need Vitamin D to increase calcium absorption to strengthen bones.
PLUS 7 additional ingredients
Strong Bone Support also combines the power of Zinc, Magnesium, Boron, Manganese, Copper, Folic Acid & Vitamin B6 to deliver a special high strength blend working in harmony to deliver nutrients to where they are needed.
Ingredients
Calcium: plays a role in many of your body’s basic functions. Your body needs calcium in order to circulate blood, move muscles, and release hormones. Calcium also helps carry messages from your brain to other parts of your body. Calcium is a major part of tooth and bone health as well. It makes your bones strong and dense. You can think of your bones as your body’s calcium reservoir. If you don’t get enough calcium in your diet, your body will take it from your bones. Your body doesn’t produce calcium, so you have to rely on your diet to get the calcium you need.
Vitamin C: is involved in a large number of biological processes. It is used to produce protein that makes skin, joints, and bones strong. Vitamin C speeds up wound healing and helps to form red blood cells and prevent bleeding. Your body's immune system relies on vitamin C to keep the disease-fighting white blood cells active. Vitamin C also helps your body absorb iron and folic acid effectively and turn food into energy.
Vitamin D: a number of studies have highlighted the key role of vitamin D in maintaining normal bone health and calcium metabolism. Although we make vitamin D in the skin from exposure to sunlight, vitamin D deficiency among the population is common and food sources of vitamin D are limited especially among vegetarians. Vitamin D supplementation has been shown to decrease the risk of bone fracture.
Vitamin K: an important nutrient that plays a vital role in blood clotting and bone and heart health. Inadequate intake may cause bleeding, weaken your bones and potentially increase your risk of developing heart disease.
Vitamin B6: contributes to the function of the immune system, the regulation of hormonal activity, cysteine synthesis, energy-yielding metabolism, protein, and glycogen metabolism, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Folic Acid: is needed for the production and maintenance of new cells, as well as for DNA and RNA synthesis.
Magnesium: Several studies have shown that when magnesium is restricted in the diet, the risk of osteoporosis increases. Bones of people deficient in magnesium are brittle and fragile which increases the risk of fracture. About 60% of our magnesium is stored in our bones; it is essential to all living cells, including bone cells, and is required for calcium transport and metabolism.
Zinc: is vital for growth and wound healing, zinc is also a powerful antioxidant and immune system booster, helping to protect you from infection. It is also thought to be important for brain function and a healthy nervous system and is important for mental alertness. As an antioxidant and immune system booster, zinc can help to reduce pain and inflammation.
Manganese: is essential for bone health, including bone development and maintenance. When combined with the nutrients calcium, zinc, and copper, manganese supports bone mineral density.
Copper: a key component in collagen production. Healthy bones and skin requires collagen formation, but this slows down with age. This slowing down of collagen production is correlated with a decreased presence of “copper peptides” in blood plasma as we age. When these peptides are at work, they encourage blood vessel growth, help promote skin regeneration, stimulate collagen, and boost antioxidant activities. Essentially, copper acts as a conveyor that carries nourishing, restorative proteins to the bones and joints.
Boron: vitamin D is essential for bone health because it enhances your body’s ability to absorb calcium. Calcium is a mineral responsible for making bones strong. Boron helps enhance bone health by increasing how long vitamin D works in your body.
