Many of these unique animals end up in rescues or shelters, from either being injured in the wild or from pet owners who overestimate their ability to properly care and provide for them, and instead bring them to a shelter.

Organizations that take in reptiles are always in need of special supplies, as most supplies donated are intended for cats and dogs. Budgets are tight as financial resources are focused on providing shelter and food.

Skybird Wildlife Center was incredibly grateful for the supplies that were sent and so were our froggy friends. This little guy loved his new little water bowl mainly for sitting and relaxing in.

Lizzie Belle, a 5 year old bearded dragon, was surrendered by a family who could no longer care for her. With a large growth on her leg, the worst was feared—but thank goodness it was soon learned it was benign. Despite her swollen limb, Lizzie Belle greets rescue workers with bright eyes and boundless curiosity, dragging herself to the front of her enclosure for a bug treat or simply to be near people. Her determination, appetite, and playful “jumps” for food show a spirit that refuses to be dimmed. She’s a little dragon with a big heart, and every day she's a reminder of what resilience and love truly look like.
