The color is a pinkish brown with lighter colored mottling and some light spalting. This block has subtle, attractive grain patterns, which includes darker streaks and knots. It is lightly spalted with "white rot" style spalting. Most of these pieces also have a bit of black line spalting. This wood has been carefully air dried to 10 12% moisture

This block has subtle, attractive grain patterns, which includes darker streaks and knots. It is lightly spalted with "white rot" style spalting. Most of these pieces also have a bit of black-line spalting. This wood has been carefully air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. There are some drying cracks present that we recommend you fill with CA glue prior to or during turning. See photos for close-ups on the cracks in this block. This piece also has a sliver of bark / wane along one edge. Pear wood typically has a fine and even grain pattern, which can result in a smooth and attractive surface when turned. This fine grain allows for intricate details and clean cuts. It is delightful to turn! |

An absolute must have in our house

Love these crazy loud squeeky balls. I bought two a bit too big but the dogs still love them. Yes, they will drive you insane but the dogs love them so much it's worth it watching the pups enjoy the balls. They are strong and safe as long as they aren't too small for your dogs mouth.
