The Martin 00L Earth is not just another entry in the company’s century-spanning lineup of acoustic instruments—it’s a benchmark in sustainable guitar design. Crafted to be the first fully FSC-certified acoustic guitar on the market and entirely free of plastic components, it blends traditional Martin craftsmanship with modern responsibility. Its compact 00 body size makes it immediately approachable for a wide range of players, while the artistic top design by Robert Goetzl underscores the environmental message at the heart of this build.
The body is anchored by a spruce top supported by FSC-certified scalloped X-bracing, producing articulate projection with balanced resonance. FSC-certified wood is also used for the back and sides, ensuring a warm tonal base while maintaining full traceability of material sourcing. The modified low oval neck is carved from FSC-certified sipo and joined at the 14th fret, creating a comfortable, modern playing feel. Topping it off, the FSC-certified ebony fingerboard carries 20 frets and 1955 Style 18 sapele inlays for a subtle vintage nod.
Hardware choices remain practical and understated, including nickel open-gear tuners with butterbean knobs, a 1.75" bone nut, and a modern straightline FSC-certified ebony bridge. The guitar is presented in a satin finish, combining a natural back and sides with the distinct “Earth” top artwork for an unmistakable look. True to its mission, it ships with a Martin hemp gig bag—the company’s first case of its kind.
