The Epiphone Prophecy SG in Aged Jet Black Metallic is a modern powerhouse disguised in a legendary silhouette, built for the forward-thinking guitarist. It blends the iconic SG design with high-performance features, resulting in a versatile instrument.
Epiphone honors the legacy of the SG, a weapon of choice for rock and roll royalty, while injecting it with innovative features. The foundation is a mahogany body topped with a stunning AAA flame maple veneer in Aged Jet Black Metallic. This finish not only ups the aesthetic, but adds a touch of luxury not found on all SG models.
The body pairs perfectly with an asymmetrical SlimTaper mahogany neck. This design philosophy keeps the treble side thin for easier lead work while thickening up on the bass side for comfortable rhythm playing. With a total scale length of 24.72 inches, the neck boasts a smooth ebony fingerboard equipped with 24 jumbo frets. Pearloid block and triangle inlays with abalone accents top the fingerboard, and a black Graph Tech Nubone nut ensures helps with sustain.
The SG Prophecy comes loaded with a pair of versatile Fishman Fluence pickups that offer a trio of distinct voicings, conveniently selectable via push-pull controls on the master volume and tone knobs. With both controls pushed in, users can unleash a high-gain, modern active humbucker sound. Pulling the tone knob out switches to a classic Patent Applied For-style PAF humbucker tone, and when the volume knob is pulled out, the coils split for shimmering, chimey single-coil tones.
The brushed nickel hardware complements the Aged Jet Black Metallic finish, helping this SG look as incredible as it sounds. Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners, a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a LockTone Stopbar tailpiece round out the hardware section.
To complete the package, the Epiphone Prophecy SG includes a premium gigbag.
