Learn how to blow glass beads using a miniature blowpipe! This technique will open up a whole new world to experienced bead makers and other glass enthusiasts who would like to abandon their mandrels. Students will learn how to gather glass at the end of their blow pipe and introduce a seed bubble before blowing the glass into a round form. There will be some discussion about even wall thickness. Students will have the opportunity to create different blown forms in the final week of the course. Some previous flameworking experience is required.
Tools and materials are provided including your very own stainless steel mini blowpipe.
Due to the nature of glass, students will have to return to pick up their finished pieces after they have been annealed.
