Taking its inspiration from a panel that’s been a treasured part of Flora’s archive for many years, Stockton is our latest large scale, historic print introduced to the collection, and a firm new favourite in the family. This bold and identifiably Jacobean inspired design champions Flora’s love of strapwork and its flourishes, and stays true to the original fragment with its distinctive watermark patterned background detail.

Whilst embracing the more expected, traditional hues for some of the colour ways, it seemed equally as important to play on the fresh opportunities for a print such as this. A palette of six colours incorporates the more autumnal Terracotta, Gold and Tudor Rose, as well as a wonderfully vivid Azure, China Blue and Park Green. As seen here, Stockton is hand screen printed in England on a soft, faintly slubby Mutka silk. This paler backcloth (in comparison to the alternative warmer Irish linen available) exudes a textural quality and wonderful lightness of touch and sense of drapery.

Suitable for drapery, light upholstery and also available in our range of lampshades, Stockton has ticked all the boxes of that heritage print we felt we were missing, and we could not be more thrilled with the result.
