The Catan: Cities & Knights 5-6 Player Extension doesn’t mess about: it does what it says on the tin! This is an extension to a previous expansion for Catan, Cities & Knights. When it was first released, Cities & Knights was for 3-4 players only. But not any more! Thanks to this extension, you can now invite a fifth or sixth player into the mix.

First came the roaring success that was Catan – the 1995 winner of the Spiel des Jahres. It’s a modern classic, and so popular that it’s spawned numerous add-ons and spin-offs. One of these was the Cities & Knights expansion. The core of the game is the same. You’re still rolling dice and gaining resources according to your settlements. You’re still trading with your rivals.

Cities & Knights introduced extra features into the fold. Now barbarians attack the island of Catan! You can hire and train Knights to fight these barbarians. It also puts even more of an emphasis on cities. Now they produce different resources, such as paper, cloth and coins, too.

This 5-6 Player Extension provides all the items needed to allow a fifth and sixth player to join in. It comes with green and brown player pieces, for things like the city wall tokens, and the knight discs. There’s also two more flip charts for the cost of structures. Extra Commodity Cards help for scaling purposes. More game pieces, more fun, more Catan!

Please note that Catan: Cities & Knights 5-6 Player Extension is an add-on pack. It expands the gameplay for Catan. It is not a standalone product. To play this extension (as you might have guessed) you’ll need to combine it with other Catan games. This cannot play without the base game of Catan itself. You’ll also need the Catan: 5-6 Player Extension, and Catan: Cities & Knights.
