Sharing all the benefits of the 4000 Series, DBA's 5000 Series rotors are a composite 2 piece direct replacement brake rotor. DBA uses only the highest quality materials to ensure optimal performance under the most strenuous circumstances, combining high carbon cast-iron rings with aerospace grade aluminum hats (T6061-T6), held together with National Aerospace Standards (NAS) bolts and crimp nuts. The 5000 Series share all of the performance technology featured in the 4000 Series, with the added benefits of further weight reduction and improved heat management via aluminum hats. The use of aerospace grade aluminum hats reduces the unsprung weight of the brake rotors, while allowing for uniform radial disc expansion through the cast iron rings, and reduced heat transfer from disc to hub via the aluminum hats. DBA offers both complete assemblies for first time replacement (hats and flat discs bolted together) along with replacement hats and flat disc rotors (rings). This allows drivers to re-use their DBA 5000 Series hats with DBA replacement flat discs (rings). DBA recommends the 5000 Series for high performance street vehicles, track day and club racing and rally applications.This Part Fits:

Watch holds up in saltwater!

I bought this watch to use for my trip to the Galapagos Islands. I read two reviews that the watch does not hold up in salt water. I went snorkeling in the ocean 6 times, about 45 minutes each time. The watch did not leak. I did take precautions by keeping the watch under my rash guard and lowering myself slowly into the water. I also rinsed off my watch each time I snorkeled. I also bought this watch for the multi time zone feature by saving the time on the west coast, east coast and Galapagos time since I cannot change the time on my Fitbit until I land in an airport. I did not use any other features of the watch because I generally use my phone or Fitbit for an alarm or timer. The only complaint I have is that Timex now discourages changing the battery by the consumer. I changed the battery myself on my old Ironman watch. The new Ironman watch is fitted with triangular head screws. So I will have to purchase screwdrivers with triangular heads when it comes time to change the battery.

Reliable and durable, even in harsh conditions

This watch has served me very well. From Arctic waters to long distance races, it has held up to everything except one task I asked of it, which was my fault.
This watch can handle repeated free dives to 12 ft deep. It cannot handle scuba diving at the same depth for an hour straight without needing to have the battery shorted to reset it.
It fits well, lights up consistently and brightly enough to read without being blinding, keeps accurate time, and generally does everything I want it to.

Ten years of ownership…Thank you, Timex!

Solid watch for everyday wear. I have worn this watch for over 10 years. I let a watch shop replace the battery about every 18 months. Other than the original band (which lasted 5 years) I have had zero problems. Still looks great, rugged and manly😇
Overall I recommend this watch for its value, reliability, simple clear design, legible hands in all light conditions. Great watch!!!

Nice simple effective inexpensive watch

I just ordered my second one of these. They are cheap, keep good time, show me the date, and last a long time. My last one lasted over 10 years. The only thing wrong with the last one was that the battery needed replacement (I think it was only the second time it had needed a battery in all the years I had owned it) at the same time the band wore out and broke. Rather than buy a new battery plus a new band, I just got a new one. I am hard on watches, and this one stood up very well. I regularly shower and swim with it on, and no problems.
It doesn't have a lot of functions I don't need, like stopwatch, multiple time zones, etc. I have found those things more of a bother than a benefit, because any time you bump the knob against something, the display changes and you're always pressing all the buttons multiple times just to get the simple info needed- like what time is it and what is the date
DEC 2020 UPDATE - I am ordering another one of these. The last one, I bought in mid 2019. Early in 2020, the date function quit working. By the end of November, the whole thing quit working. I know it's not the battery, because the light still works. So I am reducing my review by one star, and we'll see how well a new one does. The watch before the current one lasted about 10 years, so getting only a little over a year out of the current one is not good. Perhaps the current one just wasn't as good as the previous ones. It's entirely possible that they keep making the same watch out of lesser and lesser materials and workmanship.
