The 2023 Goldberg Spätlese is from red slate with limestone of the Paris basin in the underground. The wine offers ripe and intense fruit intermingled with lemon, weathered red slate and some iodine aromas. Full-bodied, intense and very mineral on the palate, this is a mouth-filling, intense and persistent yet also refined and crystalline Riesling with a long, complex, even powerful finish. Still very young but very promising, it is persistently saline and mouthwatering. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024.
