This Fender Custom Shop ’56 Strat is constructed with an alder body and a rift sawn maple neck in a 1959 “D” profile. The iconic double-cutaway body is treated to a one-of-a-kind Fender Custom Shop Journeyman Relic finish treatment to emulate the worn-in feel and look of a road-weary instrument. With a Journeyman Relic finish, the well-loved sheen and minor body bumps bring the aesthetic experience to life. This Stratocaster’s maple rift sawn neck is paired with a 9mm AAA rosewood fingerboard brandishing twenty-one Medium Jumbo (6150) frets and vintage clay dots. Meshing together visually with the body's Chocolate three-color sunburst finish, this exquisite piece of rosewood contributes greatly to the overall aesthetic presentation of this Custom Shop Strat.
A classic voice is summoned from this Custom Shop’s three handwound ’59 single-coil Relic Strat pickups, with the middle pickup featuring reverse polarity wiring for additional tonal color. With this unique pickup configuration, the lengths to which one can go on their own Stratocaster journey truly know no bounds. Fender Custom Shop’s Closet Classic hardware finish treatment lands on this Stratocaster’s vintage hardtail bridge, neckplate and string tree. Taking cues from a lesser-seen sphere of Strat design, this Custom Shop's hardtail bridge compounds upon the guitar's unique identity as it boldly strays from usual tremolo bridge tradition.
