It's also host to a 24.75" scale length and rounded neck profile that is notoriously comfortable against what would be the player's right hand, in this case.
Under the hood of the SG Standard are the dual 490 Alnico II pickups, specifically chosen to deliver a clear, bright tone that artfully handles both gain and effects, with grit and drive being easily achievable, and also easily tamed by a simple roll back of a volume pot. With 2 volume and 2 tone controls, as well as a three-way toggle switch, the SG Standard offers a versatile range of tonal possibilities, easily meeting demands of players.
The SG Standard boasts a beautiful, bound dark rosewood fretboard topped with acrylic trapezoid inlays. It also sports a Graph Tech nut that facilitates smooth string movement during bends and an aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, coupled with a stop bar. All of these combined allow for a precise intonation and ability to play without the fear of knocking out of tune. The headstock proudly bears the Gibson name and is equipped with Grover Rotomatic tuners featuring kidney buttons.
