Here is another unique tool designed by Training Wheels. The Leadership Thumball was designed to help organizations and individuals reflect and share thoughts about their leadership. There are 32 different leadership questions pre-printed on the panels of the ball.The Leadership Thumball was designed to help facilitators ask participants thoughtful questions about Leadership. The questions can be answered in a group setting or used with individuals on a specific leadership path. Feel free at any time to reword or alter the question provided. Each question is simply a starting point; take it in any direction you desire.
Be creative and avoid one-word answers. Expand on your answer as often as you can. Allow one question to lead into full-blown conversations.
Ice breaker: Invite each participant to find a partner. Toss the ball to one participant and ask them to announce the question under their thumb. Have each pair share their response to the question announced. After a few minutes of discussion time, toss the ball to a new participant and repeat the process. Encourage 3-4 discussion questions.
Leadership Discussions: Invite participants to get into a circle. Ask participants to toss the Thumball to another participant. This person should catch it, look under their thumb and respond to the question found there. We recommend one Leadership Thumball for every 10 participants.
Journaling: There are 32 questions on the ball. Pick one question each week and spend a minimum of 15 minutes journaling thoughts about your leadership. Keep all of your writings in one location to look back and see how much you grow as a leader over the course of one year.
Here are a few examples of questions on the Leadership Thumball:
- Is your ability to lead getting easier or more difficult as you evolve as a leader? Why?
- What are you doing to remain accountable to others as a leader?
- What do you have in common with the leader(s) you most admire?
- As a leader, how do you maintain, or try to maintain, a healthy balance in your life?
- How are you a better leader today than you were a year ago?
- How has being a leader made you a better person?
- Who has been your biggest fan as you evolved into leadership? Please explain.
- What book or books have influenced your leadership abilities/philosophy and in what way?

Blue ball, my dog likes blue.

One of the best dog toys I’ve found

My Great Dane puppy- at 140lbs, loves this!! We had another one that was plastic and it worked ok but this is so much better! Interactive, soft to play with, battery last a long time & he does not get bored with it.
Besides is plush lamb chops, best toy ever bought for him.

Keeps my wild child busy!

*UPDATE 1/10/26* Does my pup love it? Yes. 5 stars for that. His big thing is just holding it in his mouth though, and laying down with it. Then he will put it down, and as soon as it rolls away he gets up and grabs it again. He definitely requires attention from his humans when it’s turned on…kind of defeats the purpose of why I bought it! He’s a needy boy, that’s for sure, so it’s not the toy’s fault.
Two improvements I’d love to see though, are 1) the ability to turn off that yappy bark. I think my dog is more excited about it moving and not so much the yapping. Not that it’s bad, but my boy doesn’t bark much so I’m used to a quieter household. And 2) when removing the base for powering off, there should be a sensor so it doesn’t keep spinning in the socket, occasionally slipping out and hitting the floor. I worry about it breaking due to this.
This thing arrived today and we couldn’t wait till Christmas to give it to our high play drive Australian Shepherd. It’s been barely above zero for weeks with no end in sight, and I have cold weather asthma so I really try to limit my exposure to the elements. Needless to say, my dog has been B O R E D. He truly craves interactive play with his humans, but last week I bought a cheap r/c cat toy that really caught his attention. So I splurged on this toy and so far, it’s AWESOME. He can’t control himself when the rope starts spinning. He pounces on it and it goes spinning off and around. He keeps picking it up thinking it’ll stop, but it keeps going. After 5 minutes of play he was acting completely gassed, but he just can’t resist it, as he put it down to get a drink of water and it started spinning again. Forget the water, I need that toy! As long as this thing can handle the teeth, slobber, dirt and grime, I’ll be a repeat customer!
