Aminata Thiam, connue sous le nom de Myamy TheAyGirl, est la première femme beatmaker au Sénégal. Depuis son enfance, elle aime la musique et, grâce à son travail et à sa détermination, elle a brisé les barrières de genre dans l’industrie musicale. En plus de produire de la musique, elle enseigne l’art du beatmaking, un élément clé de la production hip-hop née aux États-Unis. Grâce aux logiciels de beatmaking, cette pratique s’est popularisée au Sénégal. Pourtant, même si la culture hip-hop est plus accessible, les femmes rencontrent encore des obstacles dans l’industrie.
