It is about 50% the dark chocolate brown of Texas Ebony heartwood and 50% the lighter honey blonde of Texas Ebony sapwood. The grain is gently inclined to the long axis of the spindle. This piece has been air dried to 10 12% moisture content. There are two hairline cracks on the annotated end (see close up) that might benefit from a bit of thin CA glue.
