Next‑Generation Lithium Power System

At the core of the HKM-647187 sits a high‑density 72V 45Ah lithium‑ion battery pack — engineered for endurance and consistent power delivery. With a formidable 3.24 kWh energy reserve, the bike achieves up to 93 miles (150 km) on a single charge under typical riding conditions. The advanced Battery Management System (BMS) continuously monitors cell voltage, temperature, and state of charge, protecting against over‑charge, deep discharge, and thermal stress. Whether you are traversing forest trails or commuting across town, the pack’s optimized energy density keeps you rolling longer between charges.

Smart BMS Protection

Multi‑layer safeguards ensure battery longevity and safety in all temperatures.

Range‑Optimized Cells

High‑grade 21700 cells deliver minimal voltage sag and extended cycle life.

Mid‑Drive Brushless Motor & Instant Torque

The centrally mounted brushless motor delivers a staggering 500 Nm (369 lb‑ft) of torque directly to the drivetrain, translating into explosive acceleration and effortless climbing on gradients up to 35°. Unlike hub‑motor designs, the mid‑drive configuration preserves the bike’s balanced weight distribution and leverages the 5‑speed gearbox for optimal mechanical advantage. The result is a responsive, natural ride feel — whether you are crawling over technical rock sections or sprinting on open fire roads. The motor’s sine‑wave controller ensures whisper‑quiet operation and smooth power modulation.

Multi‑Layer Gear Reduction

Optimized internal gearing multiplies torque while keeping the motor compact and efficient.

Sine‑Wave Controller

Delivers fluid power delivery and near‑silent operation, reducing drivetrain stress.

Lightweight Alloy Frame & Full Suspension

Crafted from 6061 aluminum alloy, the frame strikes an ideal balance between rigidity and low weight, enabling nimble handling without sacrificing durability on punishing trails. The hydroformed tubes feature reinforced weldments at high‑stress junctions, while the geometry is tuned for aggressive all‑mountain riding. Paired with a full‑suspension system — featuring adjustable preload and rebound damping — the bike absorbs square‑edge impacts and successive bumps with poise, maintaining tire contact and rider confidence at speed.

6061 Aluminum Chassis

Precision‑welded frame with optimized strength‑to‑weight ratio for trail agility.

Adjustable Full Suspension

Tune compression and rebound to match terrain, from rock gardens to flow trails.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes with Precision Control

Stopping power is delivered by a set of high‑performance hydraulic oil brakes, featuring four‑piston calipers biting on large‑diameter stainless steel rotors. The system provides exceptional modulation and fade‑resistant performance, even during prolonged descents or emergency stops at top speed. Ergonomic levers offer reach adjustment, allowing riders to tailor the engagement point for maximum comfort and one‑finger braking capability. With a dual‑circuit layout, braking force remains balanced, enhancing stability when you need it most.

Oversized Wheels & All‑Terrain Rubber

Equipped with a substantial 70/100‑19 wheel set (front and rear), the HKM-647187 rolls over obstacles with authority. The wide‑profile knobby tires (approximately 3.0‑inch section width) deliver a large contact patch for superior grip on loose soil, gravel, and mud. The 19‑inch rim diameter strikes a sweet spot between rollover capability and sidewall compliance, while the aggressive tread pattern sheds debris effectively. Whether cornering on hardpack or powering through sand, the tire and wheel combination inspires confidence at all lean angles.

5‑Speed Gearbox & Seamless Shifting

The five‑speed transmission allows riders to select the perfect ratio for every situation — from steep, technical climbs that demand low‑end grunt to high‑speed sections where cadence and motor efficiency matter. The gearbox features dog‑clutch engagement for positive, reliable shifts, and is sealed against dust and moisture. The close‑ratio spread complements the motor’s broad torque curve, enabling smooth acceleration without power gaps. A gear position sensor communicates with the controller to optimize power mapping in each gear.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the actual range on a single charge?
Range varies based on terrain, rider weight, speed, and assist level. In optimal conditions (flat terrain, Eco mode, 155 lb rider), you can achieve up to 93 miles (150 km). Aggressive off‑road use with maximum power will reduce range accordingly. The battery management system ensures consistent performance throughout the discharge cycle.
How fast does the battery recharge?
Using the included 5A smart charger, a full charge from empty takes approximately 8‑9 hours. The battery supports faster charging (up to 10A) with an optional accessory charger, reducing charge time to around 4‑5 hours. The BMS controls charge current and temperature to preserve cell health.
Is this bike street‑legal?
The HKM-647187 is designed primarily for off‑road use. Regulations vary by region; some areas classify it as a moped or motorcycle, requiring registration and a license. Please check your local laws before operating on public roads. It can be fitted with lighting and mirrors (not included) for potential homologation.
What maintenance does the drivetrain require?
The sealed gearbox requires an oil change after the first 300 miles (500 km) and then every 1,200 miles (2,000 km). The chain (if applicable) should be lubricated regularly. Hydraulic brakes need periodic fluid inspection. The battery contacts should be kept clean and dry. Full service intervals are detailed in the user manual.
Can the battery be removed for charging?
Yes, the 72V 45Ah pack is easily removable via a key‑locked mounting system. This allows you to charge indoors or swap batteries for extended riding sessions. The pack weighs approximately 38 lb (17.2 kg).

You can get this online free, but I bought it. Let Fanon turn your brain inside out.
I actually like the idea of supporting a press that is publishing Fanon. When I was growing up with my dad working with the SCLC and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as part of the night security crew for the summer marches, I was probably more aware than most Americans -- certainly most Americans outside of the black community -- of how much permeability there was between the nonviolent SCLC, and the Black Panther movement, for which Fanon was a seed influence. Youth in the SNCC organization, the youth group associated with the SCLC, often went back and forth between SNCC and the Panthers as they developed their activist identity and their ideas of how justice might be achieved. The phrase "by any means necessary" used by the Panthers often scared the bejeezus out of the white community. But when I sat down with my father -- who was an adherent of formal nonviolence -- he handed me Fanon to read, and told me that it was a valid investigation as to whether violence should be considered if nonviolent means were not entertained by the state. To my dad, who was a peaceful but fiercely justice-oriented man (for those of you who know the idiom "fire of Amos" he had it), he considered that without the counterpoint of the Panthers, MLK would never have gotten a hearing in Washington DC. Just the idea that there were revolutionaries in American society looking at American "apartheid" and saying, "We are willing to take care of our own if you separate us. We see our situation as that of a post-colonial slavery society and use the model of African liberation as our model. We are willing to be peaceful if we are given justice in peace, but we do not believe that you are acting in good faith and will use whatever means necessary to see you follow your own promises of justice and see justice for our own people if you will not see that done." That was actually a step down from Fanon. That was actually optimism. But all white Americans heard out of any of that was: "...by any means necessary." They didn't think of how they were creating the circumstances that might precipitate violence. That whites had created a system that instituted violence to keep slaves, and later free blacks, contained and preserve power and privilege for the white majority. It is hard for most Americans to even realize that America -- although we became independent from England -- continued as a colonial nation and economy on our own continent and territory. That all the institutions of the repression and destruction of indigenous and imported-slave cultures that happened "over there" in countries that Europeans colonized far from home, we did at home as a break-away colony, and the Europeans who conquered America never relented, compromised, or acknowledged that colonial reality in the way that the Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, French, and British Empires did in their colonial domains. So Fanon is someone worth reading, not only for Africans, or for African-Americans, but for any American or anyone else in the world who wants to better ponder white privilege in America and how it became so very different from colonial privilege as that faded in Africa, through the lens of this Algerian revolutionary philosopher, who so influenced our Panthers. I remain committed to nonviolence personally, but I understand intensely how MLK and Malcolm balance each other. And how that can actually lead to better peaceful solutions, in a social justice conflict where the status quo has been preserved by judicial and extrajudicial violence by a superior force. This is still relevant in puppet regimes all over the world. In client states of capitalist powers and of Russia and China. In the conflicts surrounding Israel, and the conflicts throughout the Middle East and Central Asia that are often couched in sectarian terms or sectarian vs secular terms. It is vital to understanding countries like Zimbabwe or South Africa, where the dynamics of early black leadership as colonial-wannabes are creating environments of corruption and scandal, and robbing their own people. Everyone should read Fanon. If you can't afford the book here, you can find it online free. This book, and Black Skin, White Masks, both highly recommended. If you don't like Marxist/Socialist politics, try to suspend disbelief a bit. The philosophy, sociology, and psychology is amazing.
