Six Questions Your Ziebart Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this profit and loss template for automotive service franchise units using detailed research into the vehicle protection industry. Key assumptions like the $1,155,000 year-one revenue and the 8% royalty fee are pre-populated and fully editable to fit your specific territory. This automotive franchise unit economic analysis tool helps you see how $157,000 in year-one EBITDA scales as you grow your technician count.

When does this unit reach positive territory?

This franchise profitability analysis shows the unit hitting profitability quickly, with a year-one EBITDA of $157,000. By year five, net profit scales significantly to $1,021,000 as you optimize labor and chemical COGS, which defintely improves margins over time as you reach mature-unit performance.

Profitability Drivers

  • Optimize chemical usage to hit 10.5% COGS target
  • Scale B2B dealership revenue to $507,000 by year five
  • Maintain 8% royalty and 2% marketing fee discipline
[dynamic_pic9]

What is the total investment and where does the money go?

Your capital expenditure budget for this auto detailing franchise investment totals approximately $785,000. This covers everything from the $45,000 initial fee to the $300,000 leasehold improvements and specialized rustproofing spray booths needed to start operations in a high-traffic automotive corridor.

Capital Allocation

  • Leasehold improvements: $300,000
  • Rustproofing spray booths and service lifts: $180,000
  • Showroom fixtures and IT systems: $115,000
  • Initial inventory and PPF tools: $105,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What are the projected investor returns and payback?

Financial planning for prospective franchise owners reveals an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 3.23% and a Return on Equity (ROE) of 2.02. The model estimates a 4-year payback period, meaning you recover your initial $785,000 investment through accumulated cash flow by the end of the fourth year of projecktions.

Investment Metrics

  • Internal Rate of Return: 3.23%
  • Years to payback: 4 years
  • Year 5 EBITDA: $1,021,000
[dynamic_pic11]

At what sales volume does the shop break even?

The break-even point occurs in April 2026, just 4 months after launch, according to the model. This rapid timeline depends on hitting your $15,000 monthly rent target and managing a labor force of 9 initial employees effectively to cover the $23,900 in monthly fixed operating expenses.

Break-Even Levers

  • Secure high-margin rustproofing contracts early
  • Control technician overtime during the ramp-up phase
  • Maximize throughput of detailing packages in month four
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the peak cash need during the ramp-up?

The lowest cash point is $422,000, occurring in June 2026. This means you need a solid cash buffer to handle the timing gap between your $785,000 startup spend and the estimating recurring revenue for car detailing franchise services that builds over the first six months of operation.

Cash Flow Protection

  • Phase detailing equipment purchases to match launch dates
  • Negotiate tiered rent for the first six months
  • Manage initial inventory levels strictly at $30,000
[dynamic_pic13]

How do different performance levels impact the bottom line?

When learning how to build a financial model for an automotive franchise, you must test Low, Medium, and High scenarios. A 10% drop in B2B dealership revenue or a spike in chemical costs can delay your 4-year payback, while hitting the High case accelerates EBITDA growth beyond the $1,021,000 year-five forecast.

High-Case Execution

  • Upsell PPF to 30% of dealership customers
  • Improve technician productivity to lower labor percentage
  • Execute hyper-local digital marketing for seasonal peaks

EXCELLENT FEET MOISTURE PROTECTION
Size: S (up to size 7)-Beige, Size: S (up to size 7)-Beige
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have burns on my feet and needed something that I could put burn creme on and still walk around in with. I tried other silicone footsie but they would teae really easily. So far these are doing really well for this purpose. They are holding their shape too. The only caution I have is the same with all silicone footsies: They can be slippery on wet floors, so also wear with socks over them. The biggest issues is when they say a size they mean it. The silicone used in these have little give in them, so they won't stretch out and loose their shape. That can be a good thing, or not so good, depending on how well they fit your feet and what your intent is with wearing these. The other issue is if they fit snug around those toes, that tends to be where the first tear in the material will happen. Because of how these are made, the tear is actually more like cracking in the material and once it occurs you won't be able to get much use out of the sock after that. If you are planning to wear them around the house or for long term use, I suggest going up a size or look for the toeless options.

Silicone socks
Size: M (up to size 9)-Beige
The socks are sized large. The quality of the silicone is good. But they slide around on your feet if you try to walk, making them difficult to use and a bit uncomfortable. Unless you are able to sit for long periods of time the likely will not work well. Recommend looking for a better value.
